Paperwallet

Paperwallet

Founded in 2007, Paperwallet is an international e-commerce brand specializing in minimalist wallets with a twist. With an equal focus on functionality, design, and style, Paperwallet accessories are a modern alternative to traditional leather wallets. Each Paperwallet product features a limited-edition design created by artists from around the world. The Paperwallet brand originates from hustle and humble beginnings. Founder Elad Burko was struck with inspiration after he was gifted a vinyl wallet from a friend who picked it up on vacation. Since Elad was always interested in entrepreneurship, it was at that moment he saw the opportunity he’d been waiting for and jumped right in. Paperwallet started small, selling at tradeshows and getting into wholesale before launching their own online store. Now, they sell wallets internationally and have collaborated with talented artists from around the world.

But how to achieve a product that is compact yet durable? Oh, and environmentally friendly? When creating the original wallet, these three criteria were at the forefront of the team’s minds. After significant research and testing, Tyvek® was the clear winner and is now the smart material used for all Paperwallet products. Tyvek® material is as thin as paper but strong enough to withstand the wear and tear of your busy life. Tyvek® is the same material used on construction sites and other large-scale projects because it’s able to avoid rips and tears. Tyvek® is also liquid-proof and will expand over time rather than burst at the seams if it’s overstuffed. The most integral part of this material is that it’s 100% recyclable and is able to be recycled up to six times after use. Sustainability is important and built into the core of the Paperwallet mission. Paperwallet is proud to be the very first brand to merge the design potential of Tyvek® material with limited edition artwork from artists around the globe.

Art is truly at the heart of Paperwallet. The brand is influenced both by the art of origami and a goal to create pocketable art. We want to get artists’ work off the wall and into the world. The techniques of origami paper folding are used to transform the Tyvek® from a sheet of material into a thin wallet containing pockets with enough room to store all your essential items. The folds help create the desired minimalistic look while paying homage to the art of paper folding. But don’t worry, folds aren’t the only thing keeping your cash in place. Additional stitching may be added to certain products to keep everything secure.

When founding the company, Elad knew that he wanted to partner with inspiring artists to give them an opportunity to make a living from their art. Elad knew many talented artists who had to put their art on the backburner to make ends meet, so he committed to working with local artists from all around the globe and ensuring he could give back to the art community. Because the Paperwallet products are released in limited-edition batches, many artists have the opportunity to be featured. Elad frequently attends art shows and scours local markets and festivals looking for the next exciting artist partnership for future Paperwallet products. Artists are also welcomed to submit their portfolios or proposals to the Paperwallet team online for consideration.

When you purchase a Paperwallet, you can expect a paper-thin, minimalist wallet made of the toughest, long-lasting material around. As an added bonus, the designs are limited edition, so you stand out from the crowd. Paperwallet offers four wallet styles to fit your specific needs; the slim wallet, micro wallet, clutch wallet, and flat wallet. While each varies in size and shape, all Paperwallet products are designed with the same foundational elements; durable Tyvek® material, expert origami-influenced design, and international artwork. Whether you plan to store your wallet in a bag or in your pocket, you can rest assured that it won’t take up too much space, and keep you looking effortlessly stylish.

The original wallet release is still one of the best-sellers. At 3.9 by 3.25 inches, the Slim Wallet can fit between 8-12 cards comfortably while still leaving room for plenty of cash. The small and sleek build combined with the generous pocket space makes it an ideal tool for keeping your life organized yet simple. If you’re looking for a bit more room, the Clutch Wallet might be the product for you. This wallet is 7.1 by 3.8 inches and is designed to fit your life beautifully with a minimalist touch in mind. You’ll have plenty of room for all your necessities, with three card slots, two large cash compartments, and a large zippered pocket. The Clutch Wallet can hold up to 9 cards and plenty of cash.

Safety is also a key component of Paperwallet’s goals. The new release of RFID technology integration adds an extra layer of security, without adding more weight to your wallet. Information-threatening tools have never been easier to obtain or use. Your personal information could be picked up simply by walking past a stranger. With an RFID shield, however, the technology won’t work. Keep your private information private, and do it with the same compact style. All of the Paperwallet wallet styles have the option for RFID protection. Paperwallet products exemplify a fusion between functionality and art, keeping your every day carry slim, convenient, and fashionable. With a dual focus on sustainability and supporting the international art community, Paperwallet is a unique brand with a variety of wallets to fit anyone’s personal style.
