Exhibition Review: LONDON CONTEMPORARY 2022 – 5TH EDITION
London | November 11 – 25, 2022
THE LINE Contemporary Art Space
ITSLIQUID Group, in collaboration with YMX Arts, is pleased to announce the resounding accomplishment of the 5th Edition of LONDON CONTEMPORARY 2022, an international art fair that presents collective and solo projects by leading and emerging international artists, which took place in London, at THE LINE Contemporary Art Space, from November 11 to November 25, 2022.
The 5th edition of LONDON CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR represented a forum for the direct exchange of ideas and contacts between collectors, artists, photographers, designers and art professionals. The art fair featured paintings, sculptures, photography art, installations, video art and live performance and focused on the relationship between body and space, and the hybridization between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban settings in contemporary times.
Artists, architects and designers have been invited to be moved by the mystical energy of London and explore the connection between desires, needs and fears through rituals that bring people to alter, transform, and evolve their inner world.
A great deal of artists have given a new twist to the body-space relationship through the camera lens: this is the case of the Mexican photographer Tzuruan Plata Santana, who in his aerial photographs has grasped the naked human body in order to trace the dawning and nurturing of the bonds we forge with the space we dwell in at that point in time. Rebeccah Klodt sought to reinforce with her art that the gist of nature is not only surrounding us but also deep from within us: the American artist beckoned us to fully encompass our nature and bridge it with the world as a whole.
While employing only crayons, British contemporary artist Gabriella Anouk crafted hyperrealist art with a dash of whimsy by melting several styles, amongst them photorealism, surrealism and pop art. The focus of the exhibition was also well reflected in the selected video pieces, which comprehended artists of the caliber of Christina Sirmons whose video entitled “Ash” mesmerized spectators with its sheer elegance, fluidity and gracefulness.
