LONDON CONTEMPORARY provided artists and exhibitors with the unique opportunity to present their works to an international audience of professionals such as curators, gallerists, collectors, editors, and publishers who seek to acquire, publish and encourage the best contemporary art talents.
LONDON CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR 2025 analyzed the relationship between body and space, and the hybridization between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban settings in contemporary times.

The 15th edition of LONDON CONTEMPORARY beautifully embraces the theme of transformation, addressing the shifting boundaries between human experience and the spaces we inhabit; the participating artists engage deeply with the show’s focus on personal and societal evolution, reflecting on the rituals and moments that shape and alter our inner worlds. Patrick Bermingham’s sculpture “XXI Century Woman”, stands as a powerful celebration of modern identity through traditional craftsmanship. Combining volumes and facets, the figure stands as a symbol of female resilience, inviting viewers into a layered experience that grows richer over time, encouraging viewers to consider how real and represented bodies interact with their surroundings.

This theme of transformation is also echoed in Jim Kessler’s photography which offers an introspective journey, where expansive landscapes and intimate moments invite the viewer into a shared space of stillness and reflection. His work is the result of a lifelong dedication to capturing moments with honesty and emotional depth, using composition, exposure, and printing as tools to honor the subject rather than manipulate it. Whether working with different types of film and Nikon digital cameras, he focuses on the natural visual impact of the scene. In contrast, Yurifa’s delicate, hand-finished prints, rooted in the tradition of Japanese craftsmanship, added a layer of introspective emotional depth to the exhibition. Using Awa Washi paper and mineral-based pigments, she fuses ancestral techniques with modern sensibilities, offering the viewer a tactile experience that evokes both a sense of historical continuity and personal healing. Her work invites all people to engage with art as a space of personal freedom, authenticity, and emotional truth.

The artists’ works collectively explored the intricate relationship between art, identity, and the spaces we inhabit. Stephanie Bing’s vibrant still lifes and tropical landscapes infuse the exhibition with color and energy. Her radiant palettes and abstract compositions transcend traditional forms, transforming the gallery into a sensory experience where color and light became expressions of deeper emotional and spiritual states. In her work, the physicality of space merged seamlessly with emotional expression, reflecting the fluidity of contemporary identities. Jihae Naomi Park’s digital illustrations, with their intricate designs and mythological motifs, bring a sense of narrative depth to the exhibition. Her compositions, blending ornamental patterns with storytelling, engage the viewer in a visual dialogue about the complexity of identity and the hybridization of cultural influences. By drawing on both contemporary and traditional influences, Jihae creates artworks that explore the ways in which we create and inhabit new spaces, both physically and symbolically.
As London continues to serve as a global hub for artistic exchange, LONDON CONTEMPORARY once again showcased a diverse range of performances by artists from around the world, each exploring the intersections of culture, identity, and contemporary issues. Among them, Mashiro Nakamura brought an immersive blend of traditional Japanese culture and modern storytelling to the exhibition. A performance artist deeply influenced by Japanese mythology and Shintoism, Nakamura’s work explores the communication between gods and people, often embodied through the figure of the yatagarasu, a three-legged crow that acts as a divine messenger. In her recent project, Nakamura combines the elegance of the yukata (summer kimono) and a traditional Japanese hat with contemporary movement and ambient soundscapes. This unique fusion invites the audience into a sensory experience that connects ancient mythologies with modern-day concerns, bridging the spiritual and physical realms in a performance that deeply resonates with contemporary identity.
Equally thought-provoking, The Clockwork Collective presented an experimental performance that explored the growing role of artificial intelligence in the art world. Through their innovative use of technology, including a theremin-playing robot and original compositions, they examined the emotional responses AI elicits from artists, musicians, and audiences. Their immersive work encourage a dialogue about the future of creativity, questioning the role of technology in shaping art and human identity. In doing so, they invite the audience to confront the complexities of an increasingly automated world, raising critical questions about what it means to be human in the digital age.
