The 14th edition of ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR represented a forum for the direct exchange of ideas and contacts between collectors, artists, photographers, designers and art professionals, and provided a unique opportunity for artists and exhibitors to present their works to an international audience of art professionals seeking to acquire, publish and encourage the best talents in contemporary art. The exhibition analysed the body-space relationship and the hybridisation between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban contexts in contemporary times, through two main sections: MIXING IDENTITIES and FUTURE LANDSCAPES.

MIXING IDENTITIES analysed the hidden parts of our identities and their infinite modes of expression, through an immersive experience in the fascinating universe of the labyrinths of our consciousness. While FUTURE LANDSCAPES focused primarily on the concept of boundaries and structures between body, mind and soul, human identity and the city, space and ground, transforming surfaces into an open flow of pure ideas.

The selected artists participating in the 14th edition of the ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR provide us with their vision on the metamorphosis of our bodies and minds, analysing the hidden part of our identities, as well as redefining the limits and borders of spaces between the body, mind and soul. Using meditation and guided by intuition, Ana-Iona Olar series “Mis-Self.I” explores the themes of consciousness, the body-mind threshold, and the echoes between self and environment. Through techniques like printmaking, collage, and spatial intervention, she captures fleeting moments of truth, offering viewers a contemplative space to reconnect with the beauty hidden in the everyday. In contrast, Letizia Lorenzoni work flows from instinct and emotion. Her pieces reject perfectionism, embracing spontaneous energy through vibrant, dynamic colour: explosions reflect the uncontrollable force of the universe, inviting the viewer to flow with it, expand, and let go.

The Cost of Automation by Irwandi is a poignant exploration of the artist’s anxiety surrounding the rise of artificial intelligence and its profound effects on society. The piece symbolises the gradual dulling of human abilities due to AI automation, using the image of a human figure with a damaged, bleeding brain. Combining historical photographic techniques like cyanotype and photogram with digital imaging, Irwandi merges past and present to convey the emotional and psychological toll of this technological shift. Marco Duranti’s artworks capture moments of connection, play, and intimacy between pets and humans. The result is a unique, timeless artwork that tells the story of their bond – a project that emphasises the role of play in deepening the relationship between animal and owner, resulting in a one-of-a-kind memento of their shared experience.

Rome acted as the perfect stage for the performance by Goutas Teatro, an international collective of artists based in Madrid and Paris, who explored the relationship between the human bodies and their surroundings. “Carnal” is an interdisciplinary performance where dance, physical theatre, and live music meet in a landscape of fragility, trust, and shared weight. Two bodies navigate closeness and imbalance, where falling becomes a gesture of care and play opens the door to tenderness. Designed for public spaces and adapted for the ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR, the piece unfolds as a quiet invitation to witness vulnerability, connection, and the poetry of presence.
