The 6th edition of ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR offered a forum for the direct exchange of ideas and contacts between collectors, artists, photographers, designers and art professionals, and provided a unique opportunity for artists and exhibitors to present their works to an international audience of art professionals seeking to acquire, publish and encourage the best talents in contemporary art. The exhibition analyzed the body-space relationship and the hybridisation between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban contexts in contemporary times, through two main sections: MIXING IDENTITIES and FUTURE LANDSCAPES.
MIXING IDENTITIES analyzed the hidden parts of our identities and their infinite modes of expression, through an immersive experience in the fascinating universe of the labyrinths of our consciousness. While FUTURE LANDSCAPES focused primarily on the concept of boundaries and structures between body, mind and soul, human identity and the city, space and ground, transforming surfaces into an open flow of pure ideas.

The themes of the exhibition, MIXING IDENTITIES and FUTURE LANDSCAPES, were elaborated on in an in-depth manner by the various artists and their different perspectives. The core topics of the exhibition were excellently interpreted by Judy Verdnik-Shen, from Germany, which creates dynamic, three-dimensional works that seem to be shifting depending on the observer’s position. Through colours and shapes, Oleksandra Horscroft transformed what she sees and what surrounds her into exciting, colourful shards of life.
During the 6th Edition of ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR, various artists propose works presenting abstract, infinite, and conceptual landscapes, associated with a sense of freedom and infinite extension. Spaces redefine our limits and boundaries, transforming surfaces in an open flow of pure ideas. This is the case of Ties van Brussel‘s photographic artistry which explores the interplay between colours and composition. by means of his camera, the artist finds the aesthetics he was looking for. Through this series, we can enjoy his obsessive love of hunting for the unintentional beauty of the alleys and streets of Asian cities.

Pawel Opalinski from Poland presented works from the ‘War in the 5th dimension’ series through groundbreaking forms of photographic expression. His research interests include the receiver’s emotions about a visual message in which, as a creator, he interacts through a specific code, calculated and shaped for a specific purpose. The series ‘War in the 5th dimension’ is a photographic vision of the emotions that accompany wars, collected and recorded on the branches of the timeline.
Self-taught artist Shawn Towne is stimulated by creativity. The artworks presented were embellished with resistance and crushed glass. everything is sealed with resin to achieve a hard, glass-like, sparkling finish. All these wonderful experiences have been a source of inspiration to create beautiful sparkling pieces of life. Raine Storey, from Canada, merges colour with form, the conscious with the subconscious, in an uplifting and soothing way. Storey’s work is characterized by no-nonsense humour within intellectually intelligent compositions; through his use of negative space, he demonstrates that the art of omission is as important as articulation.
The topics of the exhibition were extensively explored through artists’ points of view on art and on their own artistic journeys. In this regard during the opening day, the performer Lilian Frei asked visitors “Do you want to measure your pulse?”. Through the touch required to measure the pulse, the artist establishes an immediate connection and creates closeness: arriving at the conclusion that every pulse is different and astonishing.
