EXHIBITION REVIEW
SENSES INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2026
June 05 – 28, 2026
MUST Museum | Lecce, Italy

ITSLIQUID Group is proud to announce the great success of SENSES 2026, international exhibition of photography, painting, video art, installation/sculpture, which is taking place at MUST Museum, in Lecce, a splendid gem in the South of Italy, during Lecce Art Week 2026, from June 05 to June 28, 2026.

Bringing together over 30 international artists from 15 countries, SENSES 2026 presents a vibrant showcase of painting, photography, video, and performance within the historic spaces of the MUST Museum. Under the visionary coordination of Luca Curci, Founder and Director of ITSLIQUID Group, and the expert curation of Amaride Ferrante, Annachiara Recchia, and Giulia Tassi, the venue’s beautiful arched ceilings and charming niches become a welcoming space for dialogue and exchange, exploring the senses as a lens to understand both the human body and our digital world. This inspiring layout serves as the perfect backdrop for a profound generational dialogue, beautifully anchored by the special section “It’s Always Magic: Le icone del ‘900 italiano.” Here, the historical mastery of twentieth-century legends such as Mario Schifano, Mimmo Rotella, Mimmo Paladino, and Sandro Chia acts as a brilliant counterpoint to the urgent contemporary voices on display, bridging the boundaries between the physical body and digital landscapes to invite viewers into a shared space of memory and heightened consciousness.

Starting from paintings, through photography and video art, exploring the human body and the digital world, the senses are the creatives’ common ground, the core and the essence through which they can express themselves. SENSES ART FAIR is about exploring and experimenting with new hybridisations, and creating new possible worlds while sharing a hub for dialogue, unity, and exchange among artists, architects, designers, critics, public and private institutions, and art enthusiasts. Among the featured artists, Kari Helene Braate Ask presents paintings that explore perception and identity through a vibrant interplay of color, line, and form. Fragmented faces emerge from layered compositions where abstraction and figuration coexist, creating emotional landscapes shaped by memory and inner experience. Through expressive contours and dynamic chromatic contrasts, the artist invites viewers to reflect on the fluid nature of perception and the multiple dimensions of the self.

Ceramic sculptor Nina Malo presents a body of work deeply connected to tactile perception and the fluidity of natural forms. Her sculptures emerge from an intimate dialogue between clay, movement, and transformation. Inspired by marine elements and organic structures, her refined surfaces and continuous lines evoke both visual harmony and tactile sensitivity: her artistic language balances precision and unpredictability, allowing material to become an active participant in the creative process. The bronze sculptures of Leah Poller further expand the exhibition’s investigation of material perception. Through the enduring presence of bronze, the artist creates forms that embody both strength and vulnerability, permanence and transformation. The physical qualities of the medium become vehicles for emotional and psychological reflection, inviting viewers to consider the ways in which memory, identity, and human experience are continuously shaped through interaction with matter and time.

Within the exhibition, multimedia artist Irena Vujanovic presents the solo exhibition “Life is Circus, Circus is Life – Pay for the Ticket and Blame the Clown, and Yet It Moves”. This project represents a multidisciplinary exploration of contemporary existence through neo-digital art, painting, poetry, and dance. Her environments stimulate multiple senses simultaneously, merging visual intensity with rhythm, movement, and emotional resonance. Vujanovic transforms the exhibition space into a metaphorical circus where spectators become participants, confronting chaos, irony, fragility, and resilience. Through layered narratives and performative dynamics, the artist creates a dialogue between the physical and digital body, encouraging viewers to rediscover their own emotional rhythm within the complexity of modern life. During the opening event, the performative dimension of the project activated the exhibition space, generating a direct encounter between audience, movement, and sensory experience.

Christa Grenawalt opens the exhibition with a monumental site-specific installation, where a cascading textile canvas drops from the ceiling to instantly transform the architectural environment. Inspired by the fluid movement and shifting colors of water, this piece reshapes the entrance into an immersive landscape, immediately drawing visitors into a deeply physical and sensory experience. As viewers move deeper into the space, Anthony Emerton continues this exploration of sensory engagement through a series of paintings that examine the fluid relationship between perception and space. His carefully constructed compositions reveal that how we interpret our surroundings is never fixed, but constantly negotiated through individual perspective. By encouraging viewers to question the fragile boundary between reality and representation, Emerton highlights our own active role in creating meaning, perfectly mirroring the immersive atmosphere established by Grenawalt’s monumental textile work.
