Stuart Weitzman shoe boutique by Zaha Hadid

The first of Zaha Hadid‘s chain of shoe boutiques for Stuart Weitzman opened in Milan last month.These images show shoes presented on sinuous display stands with metallic edges, while wall-mounted shelves curve out from vertical surfaces surrounded by more flowing forms.

The six-window boutique creates a dialogue between the geometric and fluid lines that flow throughout the ornate 3,000 sqft interior fabric of the store. A series of rose gold dipped fiberglass seats and modular display units showcase shoes enhance the relationship between the customer and the collection.

Glass-reinforced concrete curvatures focus on special areas for display, supplementing the experimental materials and construction methods.

Based in Sofia, Bulgaria, their small team of talented artisans creates vibrant tableware that turns daily moments at home into small celebrations. "Every dish you serve can taste better as the process of eating starts with observation", explains architect Maria Baleva, who embarked on her crafting journey four years ago. First, it was just a personal temptation to express her creativity in a new way through the endless process of improvisation with porcelain forms and glaze colors.
