SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOPS | VENICE, JULY 2016

It’s LIQUID Group is proud to announce the 3-days SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP that will be made by the international architectural Spanish firm EOVASTUDIO as part of VAA – Venice Architecture Academy, the academic division of BORDERS festival 2016. The workshop will be presented in Venice during the first event of BORDERS festival, BODIES+CITIES SKIN, from 05 to 07 of July 2016, at Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi and Venice Art House, during the period of the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale.

The workshop is focused on sustainable architecture, sustainable materials and the sustainable way to use them. The workshop will start from the study of  traditional and innovative materials like bricks, ceramic, enamelled ceramic and textile. Many examples of use of these material in Contemporary Architecture will be analyzed, starting from the international projects of EOVASTUDIO shown during BODIES+CITIES SKIN, the first event of BORDERS festival, from their multifuncional building in Rzeszów, Poland, to the carport for outdoor exhibition in Seville, Spain, made for SYRSA Automoción, to the public library and city hall for the city of Czechowice-Dziedzice, Poland.

Courses provide theoretical and practical instruction in the fundamentals of sustainability in architecture design: how to use the timeless principles of nature to build ecologically, safe shelter for themselves and their community. Getting smart about strategies is an important step to design energy efficient buildings. During the workshops will be analyzed the principles of bioclimatic design and the application of natural and innovative techniques for sustainable architecture and urban design.

Participants will learn the theory and apply their new knowledge through the design of a sustainable architecture. Philosophy and techniques rooted in timeless traditions of sustainability in architecture, combined with appropriate technology for a futuristic world.

At the end of the course all the participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance

BOCHNER BOETTI FONTANA

Curated by Mel Bochner in collaboration with Magazzino Italian Art, This Special Exhibition Examines Parallel Artistic Movements in the 1960s and 1970s in the U.S. and Italy through the artwork of Bochner, Alighiero Boetti, and Lucio Fontana. Cold Spring, NY – August 24, 2020 – This fall, Magazzino Italian Art opens a special exhibition examining the formal, conceptual, and procedural affinities in the work of Mel Bochner, Alighiero Boetti, and Lucio Fontana. Curated by Bochner in collaboration with Magazzino, the exhibition marks the first presentation to consider the American artist’s extensive, yet overlooked, engagement with the practices of Fontana and Boetti, as well as with Italian art at large. Bochner Boetti Fontana offers, through the artist’s perspective, a number of resonances between his work and that of the Italian and Italian-Argentine artists: an exploration of systems, language, and materials; and a sense of irony and humor, often and especially shared by Arte Povera and Conceptualism, as all these works opened the work of art onto the space of display.
