Field Watch

VARIO 1945 D12 Field Watch is heavily inspired by the “Dirty Dozen” – a collection of Swiss and British watches commissioned and worn by the British military during WWII. Their black dials, railroad-style minute tracks, luminous hands and indexes, and small seconds movements marked them as part of the iconic set and created a highly legible look that remains distinct even today.

Our vintage-inspired 1945 D12 crowns are positioned at 4 o’clock – ergonomically designed to be easy to grip, while staying out of the way for greater comfort on the wrist. The broad arrow symbol found on the original Dirty Dozen watches of World War II was a British government property mark. 

We honor that heritage by creating our own stylistic interpretation – an arrow that retains the spirit of direction and purpose. It’s a subtle tribute and a functional design element, allowing the wearer to always point north. Even our logo has been stealthed into the design, giving it a modern, understated touch. In doing so, we’re not just referencing the past – we’re reimagining time itself, shaping it through design, intention, and meaning.

The Battle for Singapore was one of the key battles in WWII. While it forever changed the island’s trajectory, VARIO 1945 D12 Field Watch is an affordable modern reimagination of the original Dirty Dozen Mechanical Watch that captures the spirit of bravery of the soldiers in WW2 who defended their territory and reminded us the importance to protect our independence, translating the event into a modern field watch proudly designed in Singapore.
