WAIWAI is a thoughtful collection of leather jewelry and home decor accessories. All pieces are small batches and handcrafted from ethically sourced leather in Vancouver, Canada, by Lead designer Sasha Arkhipova.

The concept of WAIWAI started a few years ago with her desire to present a contemporary minimalistic look that is underlined with sustainability and heart full design. Her journey began by attending international design fairs and shows as a vendor including ICFF, New York; WestEdge, Santa Monica; IDS in Toronto, etc. where the brand was successfully welcomed and inspired by the community of great designers and design lovers.  

Sasha, the founder, and designer makes sure that the world around gets a reward too. Her medium is jewelry and interior pieces to express these ideas. All WAIWAI pieces are made exclusively from leather scraps that find no more use in other leather makers’ hands and often end up in landfills. The meticulous and time-consuming yet meditative process of hand punching and hand stitching allows the use of even the tiniest pieces of leather offcuts.

The best qualities of valuable material are maintained. That piece of leather we all have, that lives in our closets and is worn by cared for generations. This material is natural and thus it feels so too. WAIWAI pieces are very tactile, and lightweight, they don’t interfere with everyday comfort yet attract attention with their supple simplicity. Each piece is finely crafted with every attention to detail and quality. Some of the home decor, as well as jewelry pieces, allow different uses in different scenarios. This multifunctional design lets the owner be involved in the process of choice and interchangeability.
