Waphyto
Live colorfully and in harmony with Mother Earth through Waphyto’s proprietary plant biomethodology.
Our name comes from PHYTO meaning plants, and WA of “Japan” representing herbalism and Japan. WA also means “balance” or “harmony.” It encompasses our hope for beauty and harmony for humans and nature. The Japanese beauty and wellness brand believes that through plants, we can return to the essence of beauty and unshakeable health.

Since the brand’s launch one year ago, Waphyto has formulated and developed wellness products, which extend beyond the realm of cosmetics to support radiant health and clean beauty for every stage of life. Drawing from a lifetime of experience studying phytotherapy. Waphyto founder and product developer, Atsuko Morita, understands the benefits of natural therapies for promoting long-term, whole-body wellness.

From infancy to adulthood, the Waphyto range addresses skin, hair, and body care, as well as intimate care for men and women alike. Waphyto products feature five highly functional, and natural ingredients: mulberry, chrysanthemum, gotu kola, mugwort and horsetail, all of which are extracted using a saturated steam pressure eyelone method.

Additionally, all Waphyto products are formulated with 100% natural plant essential oils and are free of synthetic colourants, synthetic fragrances, parabens, phenoxyethanol and ethanol. Each ingredient is carefully selected in cooperation with Kindai University, as well as field experts in agriculture, pharmacology and bioscience. The holistic self-care line contains a range of earthy, iconic, and traditional Japanese colors, making it easy to live with intention, express yourself and cultivate daily rituals.

Waphyto founder and product developer, Atsuko Morita, is an award-winning psychotherapist, born and raised in Japan. When she developed asthma during her professional life as a flight attendant, along with dry skin and hair, Atsuko turned to a French friend, who recommended phytotherapy techniques. Using phytotherapeutic products, Atsuko noticed that the symptoms of her asthma gradually dissipated, and she began to experience numerous benefits.

She left her airline career permanently to attend the Université de Paris and study botanical therapy in France. Through her research of pharmacology and cosmetics, Atsuko began to realize the transformative power of plants. After discovering that botanical therapy could support health and wellness from the inside as well as the outside, she began developing a series of plant-based beauty products that could be used throughout a lifetime. Waphyto was born.
