Year In Review

Year In Review is a juried, international all-medium-encompassing open call for art. You are invited to take part in a mission to present a range of technique, style and narrative that captures the best emerging artists of 2013.

The Mission:
Let 2014 be the Year the World Sees Your Art. The third of an annual series, Year In Review is an international open call for Painting, Sculpture & Installation, Photography, Design & Illustration, Motion & Sound, Fashion, and more, with a mission to present one selected visionary at SCOPE Art Show, the premier showcase for international emerging contemporary art and one of the most influential presences in the expanding global art market. The Prizes:

The Grand Prize Package
One artist, determined by the Grand Prize jury, will be selected to receive:
– An exclusive booth at SCOPE New York 2014, next to the top figures in the global art scene
$10,000 cash grant, including $5,000 to spend however you want and $5,000 toward production of the booth
– Printed inclusion in the SCOPE New York 2014 catalog distributed at the fair
– A publicity campaign in New York City promoting you and your work

The People’s Choice Award
The public will cast their vote and the artist with the most viewed and highest voted portfolio will receive:
A Trip Around the World
$2,500 cash grant
– International exposure via a feature published by See.Me

The Category Awards
The jury panel will select six artists who will each receive inclusion in a Group Exhibition at SCOPE NY 2014, an online feature published by See.Me, a printed inclusion in the SCOPE New York 2014 catalog distributed at the fair. These six artists will be chosen in the following categories:
– Painting
– Sculpture & Installation
– Works on Paper
– Fashion
– Photography
– Design & Illustration
– Motion & Sound

The Early Entry Award
The jury panel will select one artist to receive a $1,000 grant, an online feature published by Artists Wanted, a printed inclusion in the SCOPE New York 2014 catalog distributed at the fair.

Get your work reviewed by leaders in the industry. Entries will be reviewed in consideration for the Grand Prize, Category and Early Entry Awards by an esteemed panel of jurors:

Alexander McQueen was born in London on March 17th 1969, the youngest of six children. He left school at the age of 16 and was offered an apprenticeship at the traditional Savile Row tailors Anderson and Sheppard and then at neighbouring Gieves and Hawkes, both masters in the technical construction of clothing. From there he moved to the theatrical costumiers Angels and Bermans where he mastered 6 methods of pattern cutting from the melodramatic 16th Century to the razor sharp tailoring which has become a McQueen signature. The Brussels gallery MANIERA presents a collection of furniture objects by the renowned Italian architect Francesca Torzo (1975, Padova, lives and works in Genoa). Having previously collaborated with Peter Zumthor, the architect Francesca Torzo opened her own office in Genoa in 2008. In 2018 she was a participant in the 16th Architecture Biennale in Venezia. Her recent project for the extension of the Z33 in Hasselt has been awarded with the International Piranesi award in 2018, as well as with the Italian Architecture Prize in 2020. Read more
